  • Resumen
    • At the end of every semester I ask my students to rate our resources, activities, and assessments using the prompt, “(This resource) helped me to learn physics.” The textbook always ranked in the bottom three. I have many nontraditional students with multiple demands on their time and their resources, and it pained me that they had to pay for something that they did not find useful. So, using LaTeX, I wrote a textbook tailored to my students’ needs. I provide the digital version1 for free, and optional hard copies2 cost roughly the same as printing out the pdf at home. Now my students consistently rank the textbook in the top three most useful things for learning physics.
