  • The main objective has been built a methodology of analysis and evaluation system at neighborhood scale on the incorporation of everyday experience in urban analysis support it with a theoretical and critical base, begun in the thesis of academy master. As background to the thesis lies within a continuous work in the field of research on the application of everyday experience in the analysis and evaluation from urban gender perspective that has been developed in different studies and research groups since 2005 and on which I have based the thesis of Master (2012). In the state of the art developed is confirmed that contemporary planning practice in widespread vision of everyday life from conception aside exclusively productive activities especially related to the care and reproduction of life. Since the sixties, feminist theory and gender studies have been those that have made a critical approach at this trend. In all this was not considered the experience of people. lt has been shown that the use of qualitative methods with a gender perspective can incorporate everyday experience in urban analysis. The methodology of the thesis has been primarily an empirical test of the developed research topic. On one side was performed theoretical and critical analysis of the literature reference and critical analysis of current planning practice in Catalonia in the European context. On the other hand, were made from case studies, the analysis and empirical evaluation of reality through the application of urban indicators with primary data extracted with three qualitative techniques : participant observation of the uses of urban space, participatory development and semi-structured interviews with people who use and techniques. Major Conclusions of the thesis have revealed that it is necessary to incorporate the dimension of everyday life in urban design to better meet the needs of people. Essential to this is an lnterdisciplinary, cross and interscalar labor between different actors. lt is also recommended to introduce assessment tools such as gender audits in analyzing urban spatial conditions at neighborhood scale from the experience of people. Finally, we still need give visibility and recognize the contributions of women to urbanism.
