This research has gone through several stages, in accordance with the time during which the doctoral student worked to conclude the thesis, on the one hand, and with the depth and precision of the topic covered and its realistic vitality, on the other, since the researcher has offered to study and analyze the arts of graphic design during the Arab Spring discourse, from the end of 2012 until finishing his thesis. The best witness to the continuity and extension of the popular revolutions was the overthrow of two tyrants at the beginning of 2019: Omar al Bashir in Sudan, who held power for almost three decades (1989-2019); and Abdelaziz Bouteflika in Algeria, who ruled for twenty years (1999- 2019). The two dictators have been overthrown thanks to the mass media and the popular revolutionary movement, without violence or foreign military or diplomatic intervention. However, the Arab and international media's treatment of the two revolutions varied, as many channels deliberately did not focus on both events due to political considerations, such as media governments' stances towards each regime, or media related to the fact that these revolts coincided with relevant world events: the political crisis in Venezuela, the departure of Great Britain (Brexit) from the European Union, the yellow vest protests in Paris and the war in Yemen, which it takes place between a coalition of Arab countries, on the one hand, and the Houthis, supported by Iran and its allies, on the other. We could also add the continuation and ferocity of the war in Syria, in addition to the military intervention of the international coalition against the terrorist group calling itself the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, which controls areas of Iraq and Syria. The continuity of the revolutionary movement in the Arab streets and its arrival in the two largest countries "Sudan and Algeria" gave the researcher an excellent opportunity to observe, analyze and make comparisons, which created a realistic and practical possibility to test the hypothesis of his research and the theoretical framework on the phenomenon of the Arab Spring in a general and comprehensive way, without being limited to a single country. The thesis did not address the sudden change that occurred in Syria in late 2024, which was not a result of the Arab Spring at all, but rather a military change supported by Türkiye and the United States.
