Constituyéndose la reconstrucción de la memoria histórica y la búsqueda de la verdad en procesos de resistencia civil.
"Paramilitary Violence and Peace Construction in Santander, Colombia (1981-2006)" is an investigation into the history of paramilitarism and the processes of peaceful civil resistance that opposed it in this Colombian region. In this sense, it seeks to answer how paramilitary violence developed in this state and how the communities faced this violence peacefully. It is an interdisciplinary study that takes elements from History, specifically from historical memory, from the history of the present time (HTP), from the life histories of Sociology, the transversal documentary review of all the social sciences and Peace Studies. The text starts from the tensions over historical memory and the clarification of the truth about the Colombian armed conflict, to make an analysis of paramilitarism through two generations: (1981-1991) and (1994-2006); and three evolutionary lines or organic trajectory according to their origins: Puerto Boyacá/Cimitarra, Chucurí/Opón and Córdoba/Urabá. Exposing the structures and forms of paramilitary violence justified by profit and an expanded counterinsurgency that included as an enemy any opponent of the violent order they wanted to impose; the responsibilities of the State in its creation and development; the peacebuilding actions of the communities that are victims and survivors of paramilitarism. The reconstruction of historical memory and the search for truth in processes of civil resistance are constituted.
