The central research question of this thesis is what linguo-semiotic analysis is, how and where it can be applied. In pursuit of an answer, the study begins with the exploration of semiotics, examines key semiotic concepts and foundational terminology. From this basis, the thesis identifies linguo-semiotics as a major subfield within semiotics, offers a comprehensive definition and in-depth analysis of linguo-semiosis and linguo-semiotic analysis. Within this framework, linguistic signs are defined to be a synergic outcome of both informational and communicational linguo-semiosis. By applying the Peircean-Borges Signtree model as an analytic scaffolding to classify and trace sign functions among linguistic signs, the thesis demonstrates that linguistic signs possess a composite dynamic nature, and their interpretive reconfigurations depend on context, function, and cultural embedding.
