    En esta investigación se aborda el problema del enigma de lo real en la obra de Xavier Zubiri: se busca analizar y describir de manera articulada y sistemática el surgimiento y acontecer noológico del enigma de lo real, así como su carácter y estructura metafísica. En concreto, se pretende esclarecer y desarrollar cuatro momentos del problema, si bien en orden distinto al indicado aquí: que la realidad, y toda realidad, es constitutiva e intrínsecamente enigmática; que dicha enigmaticidad posee un carácter metafísico o transcendental; que tal enigmaticidad es inteligida directa e inmediatamente por el hombre en todo acto aprehensivo; y, finalmente, que dicha intelección impulsa al hombre, poniendo en juego su razón y su libertad, a buscar intelectiva y existencialmente su fundamento, el fundamento de dicha enigmaticidad. Todo ello nos ha obligado, de modo especial, a intentar descubrir el lugar originario, la raíz metafísica última en donde descansa y desde donde emerge dicha enigmaticidad de la realidad. Con vistas a clarificar y posicionar de modo más nítido a nuestro autor ante dicho problema se ha elegido un interlocutor intelectual: el cientificismo contemporáneo. Ha actuado de contrapunto filosófico.

    This research addresses the problem of the enigma of reality in the work of Xavier Zubiri: it seeks to analyse and describe in an articulated and systematic way the emergence and noological occurrence of the enigma of reality, as well as its metaphysical character and structure. Specifically, it aims to clarify and develop four moments of the problem, although in a different order to that indicated here: that reality, and all reality, is constitutively and intrinsically enigmatic; that said enigmaticity has a metaphysical or transcendental character; that such enigmaticity is understood directly and immediately by man in every apprehensive act; and, finally, that said understanding drives man, putting his reason and freedom into play, to intellectually and existentially search for his foundation, the foundation of said enigmaticity. All this has forced us, in a special way, to try to discover the original place, the ultimate metaphysical root where this enigmaticity of reality rests and from where it emerges. In order to clarify and position our author more clearly in relation to this problem, an intellectual interlocutor has been chosen: contemporary scientism. It has acted as a philosophical counterpoint.
