  • The applications of clay and algae mixtures for therapeutic and cosmetic uses have a long tradition, especially in spas, thalassotherapy centers and wellness centers in general. Peloids are thermotherapeutic agents made up of mixtures of a more or less complex solid component and another liquid that can be mineral-medicinal or sea water. Mineral-medicinal or sea waters can be included in its composition as a liquid substrate and, within the solid substrate, clays are preferably used for its preparation. The biological fraction frequently includes microalgae and cyanobacteria from mineral-medicinal waters or seawater. The main objective of this thesis is the study of mixtures of waters with different salinities with clays, previously characterized, and the microalgae annochloropsis sp for use in wellness centers. The results of the project will allow the design of suitable products for use in wellness centers.
