The objective of the research has been to analyze the attempts made by the Crown and its representatives to control the population of "ravaged custom" in the urban centers of Medellín and Santafé de Antioquia in the period between 1760 and 1810. In other words, An attempt was made to analyze the attempts to force the population considered marginal to live in the Police Department. The latter term, understood as the set of measures given by the Crown, aimed at ensuring optimal levels of well-being and "social integration"; what included from the public order to the hygiene of the inhabitants of the cities, happening through the charity, the eradication of the poverty, the control of the begging, the effective payment of the taxes and the change of customs of the population.
