  • Resumen
    • This thesis aims to investigate re- investing motivations in Equity Crowdfunding (the platform used by a high number of individuals to invest in a start-up) in entrepreneurial finance. Moreover, it aims to study playbour to expand the literature studying individuals seeking fun at work. The thesis studied two samples: potential investors who are university students at UAB and digital workers who are students working at Amazon Mturks. A field experiment has been conducted to confront students for using equity crowdfunding online to take decisions in re-investing in both scenarios while digital workers filled a survey due to their previous investing experience in equity crowdfunding. Self-Determination Theory was utilized to study intrinsic and extrinsic motivations for both samples. Financial return was a motive for potential investors in loss scenario while it was a motive for digital workers in win and loss scenarios. Recognition was a motive for both samples in loss situations while pleasure in win situations. Excitement was a motive for potential investors in loss scenario while it was a motive for digital workers in win and loss situations. Furthermore, studying playbour revealed that both samples are motivated by fun at work to work in start-ups they invested at. The significance of this thesis is that it showed differences in motives between win and loss situations and fun at work motive in start-ups.
