    Si la Diplomática notarial es uno de los campos más activos de esta disciplina en los últimos tiempos, esto es especialmente cierto en el ámbito sevillano, ya que se cuenta con importantes trabajos sobre la institución y documentación notarial en los siglos XIII y XIV, y la Edad Moderna. La presente tesis, que tiene el objetivo de analizar el notariado público y su producción documental durante la primera mitad del siglo XV, espera contribuir a esta línea de investigación por dos motivos: por ser esta una cronología que aún no había sido estudiada para Sevilla; y porque coincide con un período particularmente interesante en el desarrollo de esta institución por los problemas a los que tuvo que enfrentarse de acrecentamiento de oficios, incapacidad técnica o excesivo cobro de derechos. Para ello se estructura en tres bloques: un primero, dedicado a la institución notarial y a los escribanos públicos que ejercieron el oficio durante estos años; un segundo, sobre el proceso de elaboración de los documentos; y un tercero, centrado en el análisis de su forma y tipologías. A ello se añade un catálogo de 711 documentos, una edición diplomática de 51 documentos, con sus índices, y el catálogo prosopográfico de los escribanos públicos y escribanos de Sevilla durante esta etapa.

    If Notarial Diplomatics is one of the most active fields of this discipline in recent times, this is especially true for Seville, since there are important works on the notarial institution and its notarial acts in the 13th and 14th centuries, and the Early Modern Age. This thesis, which aims to analyse the notaries public and its documents during the first half of the 15th century, hopes to contribute to this line of research for two reasons: for being a chronology that had not yet been studied for Seville; and because it coincides with a particularly interesting period in the development of this institution due to the problems it had to face in terms of the undue increase of notaries publics, their being unskilled, or the excessive fees. To achive that, the thesis is divided into three sections: the first section is devoted to the institution of notaries and the notary publics who were working during those years; the second one to the issuing of the notarial acts; and the third and last one to the analysis of their form and typologies. In addition, there is a catalogue of 711 documents, a diplomatic edition of 51 documents, with indexes, and a prosopographical catalogue of the public notaries and their scribes during this period.
