In order to make a comprehensive assessment of the environmental quality of the coastal water of The Cullera Bay; a series of studies were done on the spatial and temporal distribution of microbiological parameters (faecal coliforms, Escherichia coli and enterococci), the bay's dynamics (drives), and its relationship with the local hydrodynamics (Coastal currents). Based on the results of these studies, a procedural assessment has been developed on the loss of environmental quality of coastal waters of The Cullera Bay. This analysis provided a reference point for developing a model of environmental indicators on the state of health of the system; which were utilized in accordance to the conceptual scheme of Pressure-State-Response (PER) to determine the issues of The Cullera Bay. Based on the aforementioned, a conceptual and methodological model has been developed. This has enabled the assessment of the danger and vulnerability of the water quality; to ultimately get an environmental model for the risk of quality loss of the coastal waters of the Cullera Bay.
