  • Resumen
    • The design and study of supramolecular hydrogelators and their self-assembly behavior is of great interest due to the high analogy with natural systems such as proteins. The present PhD thesis is based on the study of the self-assembly of small peptidomimetic compounds into fibrillar aggregates giving raise to gel materials in water. The development of this work was carried out within collaboration with a company and therefore the context of the study is aimed to structure commercial liquids with high levels of surfactants and water among other components. To that end a progressive increase of complexity was followed in the research, starting from the study of hydrogels in pure water and their interactions with salts and surfactants. The fundamental studies allowed the development of functional soft mater systems with applications in catalysis and controlled release.
