    Resumen Mo Yan es un autor que causa polémica dentro y fuera de China, por los temas, los personajes y el lenguaje en sus obras. Sus obras siempre contienen muchos elementos que tienen que ver con los contextos políticos e históricos y cierta creatividad. Debido a la especial identidad política de su autor y a su singularidad, las obras de Mo me llamaron poderosamente la atención y, en definitiva, la razón principal para elegir sus obras como ejemplos y desde aquí, reflexionar sobre la relación entre la literatura y la política.

    El objetivo de este trabajo es, desde el punto de vista sociocrítico y marxista, a partir de analizar unas obras literarias chinas representativas, que son productos de la sociedad oriental y que incluyen gran cantidad de matices socialistas y marxistas, investigar las posibles relaciones entre la literatura y la política y al final, encontrar un estado de equilibrio o una manera de llegar el equilibrio. En este trabajo investigamos cómo las obras de Mo Yan reflejan la relación de influencia mutua entre la literatura y la política. No nos limitamos a una sola obra, sino que nos enfocamos en sus novelas extensas, que son más importantes y más representativas.

    En la primera parte de este trabajo, hacemos unas aproximaciones a las opiniones tanto chinas como occidentales sobre la literatura, la política y la relación entre ellas. Realizamos una investigamos en la teoría literaria, sobre todo la marxista, lo que nos ofrece una base teórica para desarrollar el análisis concreto en la segunda parte. En la segunda parte combinamos las obras de Mo Yan con la teoría. Investigamos a lo largo del proceso de creación de las obras (antes, durante y después) para ver hasta qué punto están combinadas la literatura y la política. Analizaremos la biografía de Mo Yan, los contextos de su creación literaria (Capítulo III), los elementos literarios (el lenguaje, el contenido, las formas, el estilo, los elementos intertextuales y los conflictos en las obras) en las obras importantes (Capítulo IV), las intervenciones directas e indirectas impuestas por la política (Capítulo V) y los premios literarios, sobre todo el Premio Nobel de Literatura, que ganó Mo Yan. Profundizamos en los análisis realizados en los apartados anteriores y veremos si las obras de Mo pertenecen a la literatura propagandística o no, la cual es una combinación mecánica de la política y la literatura.

    Abstract Mo Yan is an author who caused controversies inside and outside China, because of the themes, the characters and the language in his works. His works always contain many elements related to political and historical contexts and some creativity. Due to the special political identity of its author and its uniqueness, the works of Mo called my attention powerfully. That is why we choose his works as examples to investigate the relationship between literature and politics.

    The aim of this thesis is to analyse some representative Chinese literary works, which are products of Eastern society and that includes a lot of socialist and Marxist nuances, from the socio-critical and Marxist perspective, to investigate the possible relationships between the Literature and politics and to find a state of balance or a way to get the balance between literature and politics. In this paper, we will investigate how Mo Yan’s works reflect the relationship of mutual influence between literature and politics. We do not limit to a single work. We will focus on his long novels, which are more important and more representative.

    In the first part of this work, we will see both Chinese and Western opinions about literature, politics and the relationship between them. We will carry out a research in literary theory, especially the Marxist literary criticism, which offers us a theoretical basis to develop the concrete analysis in the second part. In the second part we will combine the works of Mo Yan with the theory. We will investigate throughout the creation process of the literary works (before, during and after) to see to what extent literature and politics are combined. We will analyse the biography of Mo Yan, the contexts of his literary creation (Chapter III), the literary elements (language, content, forms, style, intertextual elements and conflicts in the works) in his important works (Chapter IV), direct and indirect interventions imposed by the politics (Chapter V) and the literary prizes, especially the Nobel Prize for Literature which was awarded to Mo Yan. We will deepen the analysis carried out in the previous sections and we will see if the works of Mo belong to propagandistic literature or not, which is a mechanical combination of politics and literature.
