REDEN (2019): Revista Española de Estudios Norteamericanos

REDEN (Revista Española de Estudios Norteamericanos) es una publicación interdisciplinar de acceso abierto. A partir de 2021 se centra en el estudio de las manifestaciones de la cultura popular estadounidense y la representación de Estados Unidos en la cultura popular.

REDEN está abierta a trabajos de cualquier disciplina y perspectiva académica, fomentando el análisis multidisciplinar e interseccional de la cultura popular y las expresiones culturales multimodales -así como de sus públicos y de su recepción- y de cómo se transmite por diferentes medios como cine, cómics y novelas gráficas, televisión y series, videojuegos, nuevos medios, música, ficción de género, etc.

REDEN (Revista Española de Estudios Norteamericanos) is an open access interdisciplinary, academic journal focusing on the study of the US popular culture manifestations and the representations of the United States in popular culture.

REDEN welcomes research papers written in English from any academic perspective and field, encouraging multidisciplinary and intersectional analysis of popular culture texts and multimodal cultural expressions—as well as their publics and reception—conveyed by means such as film, comics and graphic novels, TV and web series, videogames, music, genre fiction, and so forth.

The journal was first published between 1989 and 2002 (ISSN: 1131-9674) as academic publication of the Instituto Franklin–UAH, dedicated to American Studies with a general scope, including social science and international relations. Its publication was reprised in 2019 and in 2021 it was relaunched on the OJS platform of the Universidad de Alcalá with a fully refounded editorial team, new appearance, refreshed author guidelines, and specific focus on US popular culture.
