    El cineasta griego Yorgos Lanthimos ha cosechado en su filmografía una serie de filmes auténticos que tienen su estilo propio. Estilo en donde predomina lo absurdo debido a los elementos fantasiosos y bizarros que incluye al momento de contar una historia. Además de crear imágenes y sonidos que generan sensaciones extrañas en sus espectadores, Lanthimos también utiliza estos elementos bizarros como elementos narrativos que en conjunto con el resto de elementos fílmicos como la fotografía, vestuario, actuaciones y la misma dirección del cineasta, ayudan a crear un subtexto a la historia principal que busca contar. Poor Things (Lanthimos, 2023) [Pobres Criaturas], no es una excepción. Y es que la historia que a priori parece una fantasía, en realidad tiene un trasfondo mucho más humano, puesto que el director busca narrar los aspectos más importantes del desarrollo interno de una persona, es decir la experiencia humana. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar y analizar este posible subtexto del filme. Para ello, se tomará en cuenta las escenas más relevantes del filme y los elementos ya mencionados, pero sobre todo se analizará a fondo el personaje principal de la historia, al igual que los intertítulos que dividen al filme en capítulos. De esta manera descubriremos si existe una narrativa alterna a la historia central de Lanthimos.

    The Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos has collected in his filmography a series of authentic films that have his own style. Style in which the absurd predominates due to the fanciful and bizarre elements that he includes when telling a story. In addition to creating images and sounds that generate strange sensations in his spectators, Lanthimos also uses these bizarre elements as narrative elements that, together with the others film elements such as photography, costumes, performances and the filmmaker's direction itself, help create a subtext to the main story that he seeks to tell. Poor Things (Lanthimos, 2023) is no exception. And the story that a priori seems like a fantasy, actually has a much more human background, since the director seeks to narrate the most important aspects of a person's internal development, that is, the human experience. The objective of this article is to identify and analyze this possible subtext of the film. To do this, the most relevant scenes of the film and the elements already mentioned will be taken into account, but above all, the main character of the story will be analyzed in depth, as well as the intertitles that divide the film into chapters. In this way we will discover if there is an alternative narrative to the central story of Lanthimos.
