    Los cineastas ecuatorianos han demostrado tener interés por plasmar aspectos de lo nacional en sus films a través de los diferentes elementos que componen la cinta, en ocasiones para suplementar la trama de sus historias o permitir que las mismas avancen. Sin embargo, también suele incluirse estos elementos por el simple hecho de que el Ecuador haga presencia en dichos films. El Rezadr es una película ecuatoriana estrenada en el año 2022 en la cual se encuentran varias similitudes con otros films ecuatorianos. Por este motivo, el objetivo de este artículo es realizar un análisis a los elementos que componen este film ecuatoriano, y comprobar si estos elementos buscan representar características de lo nacional. Para ello, se utilizará una metodología que nos permita descomponer al film en partes más pequeñas y comprobar en que instancias el director representa al Ecuador, y de qué forma lo hace, si apoyan a la narrativa, o si simplemente buscan cumplir una cuota de incluir al país en los films. Este enfoque permitirá analizar las partes que componen el film con respecto a la representación, la narración y la comunicación. Las conclusiones permitirán identificar si el cine ecuatoriano sigue una fórmula que lo esta estancando, o si por el contrario existe una evolución en la forma de narrar historias.

    Ecuadorian filmmakers have shown an interest in capturing national aspects in their films through the different elements that make up the film, sometimes to supplement the plot of their stories or allow them to advance. However, these elements are also usually included for the simple fact that Ecuador is present in said films. El Rezador is an Ecuadorian film released in 2022 in which there are several similarities with other Ecuadorian films. For this reason, the objective of this article is to carry out an analysis of the elements that make up this Ecuadorian film, and check if these elements seek to represent national characteristics. To do this, a methodology will be used that allows us to break down the film into smaller parts and check in which instances the director represents Ecuador, and in what way he does so, if they support the narrative, or if they simply seek to meet a quota of including the country in the films. This approach will allow us to analyze the parts that make up the film with respect to representation, narration and communication. The conclusions will allow us to identify if Ecuadorian cinema follows a formula that is stagnating it, or if, on the contrary, there is an evolution in the way of telling stories.
