    En febrero del 2020 la muestra escénica ‘Doce Días’ a cargo de un grupo de estudiantes de primer año de la carrera de Artes Escénicas de la Universidad Central de Ecuador (UCE) usa la Dramaturgia del Espacio para (de)construir la narración oficial sobre el Paro Nacional de Octubre del 2019 y así revelar sus contradicciones. Un discurso hegemónico difundido por los medios de comunicación ecuatorianos a través del cual se ocultó la represión por parte del gobierno de Lenin Moreno que provocó la muerte de seis personas, dejó un saldo de 1000 personas heridas y un mismo número de encarceladas. El estudiantado de artes escénicas se valió de la Dramaturgia del Espacio con el objetivo de cuestionar la narrativa dominante en relación a las protestas ciudadanas. Propusieron narraciones alternativas o contra hegemónicas que desvelaron una nueva reconstrucción de los hechos y que tuvieron repercusión entre el público al que fue dirigido. Un planteamiento con el que ofrecieron un análisis propio de este suceso frente al discurso oficial del Paro Nacional de Octubre 2019 en el que se justificaba la represión argumentando la “vandalización” de la protesta. Un hecho, que como explicamos a través de este trabajo, tuvo una reacción académica por parte del estudiantado de la UCE

    In February 2020, the scenic show 'Twelve Days' by a group of first-year students of the Performing Arts degree at the Central University of Ecuador (UCE) uses the Dramaturgy of Space to (de)construct the official narration about the National Strike of October 2019 and thus reveal its contradictions. A hegemonic discourse broadcast by the Ecuadorian media through which the repression by the government of Lenin Moreno was concealed, which caused the death of six people, left a balance of 1,000 people injured and the same number imprisoned. The performing arts student body used the Dramaturgy of Space with the aim of questioning the dominant narrative in relation to citizen protests. They proposed alternative or counter-hegemonic narratives that revealed a new reconstruction of the events and that had repercussions among the public to whom it was directed. An approach with which they offered their own analysis of this event compared to the official speech of the National Strike of October 2019 in which the repression was justified arguing the "vandalization" of the protest. A fact, which, as we explain through this work, had an academic reaction from the UCE student body.
