Márgenes Editores: un mapa para explorar los territorios de la arquitectura y la cultura contemporánea

    Este ensayo visual quiere, por un lado, trazar un mapa inédito para transitar por más de una década del proyecto Márgenes, que ha evolucionado desde una publicación periódica sobre arquitectura y cultura hasta convertirse en una editorial independiente centrada en la poesía y las artes plásticas. Por otro lado, reflexionar sobre el cambio, la reinvención y la mutación, tanto de contenidos como de forma, de un concepto editorial autogestionado, libre y sujeto tan solo al devenir de sus creadores.

    Márgenes Arquitectura, germen original del proyecto editorial, es una publicación periódica con dos etapas diferenciadas. La primera consta de nueve números de enfoque monográfico: 01 Reciclaje urbano, 02 Granada, aquí, ahora, 03 Costas, 04 Norteuropa, 05 Camposanto, 06 Nueva York, aquí, ahora, 07 Arqueología Industrial, 08 La Escuela de Granada y 09 El Margen Asiático. La estructura de estos primeros números se desarrolla en tres partes: el cuerpo de la revista, que responde a un título monográfico que da sentido y orienta al resto de la publicación, donde se presentan pormenorizadamente diversos proyectos arquitectónicos construidos; la parte central, Arquitectura Dibujada, que recoge ejemplos de proyectos de fin de carrera de escuelas nacionales e internacionales; y la última parte, Contenidos Marginales, en la que se tratan materias transversales que cruzan la disciplina arquitectónica.  La segunda etapa de Márgenes Arquitectura amplía tanto el formato de la revista como la profundidad de los artículos. Sus números, por el momento, incluyen los siguientes títulos: 10 Antonio Jiménez Torrecillas y 11 Arquitectura y moda. En esta etapa la revista prescinde de los proyectos de fin de carrera y apuesta por convertir Contenidos Marginales en la primera colección de libros de Márgenes Editores. La evolución y el cambio también se manifiesta en lo formal, buscando una investigación en el diseño, paralela a la de los contenidos.  Poesía, artes plásticas y relato, son las principales apuestas de la editorial, que cuenta entre sus publicaciones a poetas como Luis García Montero, Lara López y José Miguel Gómez Acosta, artistas como Francisco Carreño y Jordi Esteva, y a jóvenes figuras emergentes como Paula Puigmartí.

    This visual essay wants, on the one hand, to draw an unprecedented map to go through more than a decade of the Márgenes project, which has evolved from a periodical publication on architecture and culture to become an independent publishing house focused on poetry and the plastic arts. On the other hand, to reflect on change, reinvention and mutation, both in content and in form, of a self-managed editorial concept, free and subject only to the course of its creators.

    Márgenes Arquitectura, the original germ of the editorial project, is a periodical publication with two different stages. The first consists of nine monographic issues: 01 Urban Recycling, 02 Granada, here, now, 03 Coasts, 04 North Europe, 05 Cemetery, 06 New York, here, now, 07 Industrial Archaeology, 08 The School of Granada and 09 The Asian margin. The structure of these first issues is developed in three parts: the body of the magazine, which responds to a monographic title that gives meaning and guides the rest of the publication, where various built architectural projects are presented in detail; the central part, Drawn Architecture, which includes examples of final year projects from national and international schools; and the last part, Marginal Contents, in which transversal matters that cross the architectural discipline are dealt with.

    The second stage of Márgenes Arquitectura expands both the format of the magazine and the depth of the articles. Their issues, for the time being, include the following titles: 10 Antonio Jiménez Torrecillas and 11 Arquitectura & fashion. At this stage, the magazine dispenses with end-of-course projects and commits to converting Marginal Contents, into the first collection of books by Márgenes Editores. The evolution and change is also manifested in the formal, seeking an investigation in the design, parallel to that of the contents.

    Poetry, plastic arts and stories are the main bets of the publishing house, which counts among its publications poets such as Luis García Montero, Lara López and José Miguel Gómez Acosta, artists such as Francisco Carreño and Jordi Esteva, and emerging young figures such as Paula Puigmartí .
