    El periodo comprendido entre 1917-1921 fue de profundas luchas obreras, probablemente. El aumento de la militancia obrera gremial fue resistido por las patronales desde el año 1919 a través de la Liga Patriótica Argentina. La voluntad de vencer a los obreros llevó a choques contra los trabajadores en todo el país; el enfrentamiento más violento de la provincia de Entre Ríos fue la denominada ‘masacre de Gualeguaychú’, hecho central del presente trabajo.

    El artículo se divide en tres partes, la primera analiza el tipo de capitalismo existente en la región, el movimiento obrero, la organización de la Liga Patriótica Argentina y una reconstrucción de los conflictos entre estos dos grupos. La segunda parte examina el sumario judicial, concentrándose en los datos cuantitativos y cualitativos de esta fuente. Finalmente se ofrece una reconstrucción de los hechos con las fuentes disponibles.

    The period between 1917-1921 was one of the deep worker’s struggles. The increase of union worker’s activism was resisted by the employers through the LigaPatriótica Argentina from 1919 onwards. The will to defeat the workers led to clashes against workers all over the country; the most violent confrontation in the province of Entre Ríos was the so-called ‘massacre of Gualeguaychú’, the central fact of this study.

    Thearticleis divided into three parts, the first one analyzes the type of capitalism existing in the region, the worker’s movement, the organization of the Argentine Patriotic League and a reconstruction of conflicts between these two groups. The second part examines the judicial summary, focusing on the quantitative and qualitative data of this source. Finally, a reconstruction of the facts with the available sources is offered.
