José Miguel Sacristán Gutiérrez is an unknown figure for many of today’s psychiatrists, which is not surprising because hardly any articles have been published on his life and work. He belonged to the Madrid school of psychiatry in the first third of the 20th century andwas a brilliant clinician. After the Civil War, hewas retailed for his political ideology and, like so many others, he suffered the so-called “internal” exile that led him to a significant ostracism from which he barely recovered, shortly before his death. In this work, we present his biography and provide direct access to several of his publications.
