Entre mercado e direitos: dilemas da sociedade civil no Brasil

    Este artigo é resultante de um estudo sobre as ações sociais dos empresários e tem como objetivo mapear as relações do que se convencionou a chamar de terceiro setor (Institutos e Fundações empresariais) e as ONGs do chamado campo democrático. Para tanto, baseamo-nos em reflexões teóricas que dominaram o debate sobre sociedade civil no Brasil entre os anos 1990 e meados de 2000 e apresentamos dados sobre a atuação desses atores. Como resultados e conclusões, verificamos que o mapeamento dessas entidades aponta para uma convergência do ‘campo dos direitos com o campo do mercado’, e como essa convergência muda, inclusive, o perfil das pessoas que trabalham nas entidades vinculadas aos institutos e fundações empresariais. Tais dados baseiam-se em entrevistas e levantamento das ações destes, bem como dos atores sociais que atuam nesse campo da sociedade civil, os quais denominei de ‘os operadores da política societal’.

    This article is the result of a study on the social actions of entrepreneurs and aims to map the relationships of what is conventionally called the third sector (Institutes and Business Foundations) and NGOs in the so-called democratic field. To this end, we are based on theoretical reflections that dominated the debate on civil society in Brazil between the 1990s and mid-2000, and we also present data on the performance of these actors. As results and conclusions, we find that the mapping of these entities points to a convergence of the 'field of rights with the field of the market', and how this convergence even changes the profile of people who work in entities linked to business institutes and foundations. These data are based on interviews and surveys of their actions, as well as of the social actors who work in this field of civil society, which I called 'the operators of societal politics'.
