  • Resumen
    • A historical photo portrays the facade of the church of Santa Maria di Gesù in San Piero Patti, which was destroyed in the last century. The portal belongs to a typological series widespread in the centers of the Messina hinterland, between the Nebrodi and Peloritani mountains. From the comparison between these similar works, dating back to the late XVth and early XVIth centuries, this paper will try to restrict the chronological horizon for the execution of the disappeared portal and the circulation of models and repertoires through the activity of teams of masters in this territory.
