    The present work has the objective to present results obtained in an experiment that involved the use of technologies in the teaching of Mathematics in a group of freshmen of the course of Electrical Engineering. From the literature consulted, it is considered that the insertion of the technologies in the teaching environment can enable students to build their own knowledge and take an active role in this construction. To illustrate its use and benefits in the classroom, an activity was developed that made use of GeoGebra software and whose main objective was to study the trigonometric functions and their properties. The results showed that the use of the GeoGebra software contributed to the understanding of the concepts involved, to the development of the analysis and argumentation capacity, to the students' socialization and collaboration during the development of the activity, the motivation for the study and the insertion of students in an environment of teaching using technologies.

    O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de apresentar resultados obtidos em uma experiência envolvendo o uso de tecnologias no ensino de Matemática em uma turma de calouros do curso de Engenharia Elétrica. A partir da literatura consultada, considera-se que a inserção das tecnologias no ambiente de ensino pode possibilitar que os alunos construam seus próprios conhecimentos e assumam um papel ativo nesta construção. Buscando ilustrar sua utilização e benefícios em sala de aula, foi desenvolvida uma atividade que faz uso do software GeoGebra cujo objetivo principal era estudar as funções trigonométricas e suas propriedades. Os resultados mostraram que o uso do software GeoGebra contribuiu para a compreensão dos conceitos envolvidos, para o desenvolvimento da capacidade de análise e argumentação, para a socialização e colaboração dos discentes durante o desenvolvimento da atividade, para a motivação para o estudo e para a inserção dos estudantes em um ambiente de ensino com uso de tecnologias.
