Roles semánticos asociados al sufijo -dor en español y catalán

    El tema de este artículo es la multifuncionalidad del sufijo -dor en español y catalán. El objetivo de la investigación es comprobar si los significados instrumental y locativo de este sufijo aparecieron en el español bajo la influencia del catalán, ya que el sufijo -dor en catalán tiene origen en el sufijo agentivo latino -tor y el sufijo instrumental y locativo -tōrium. En español, sin embargo, el sufijo -dor tiene su origen solo en el sufijo latino -tor y el sufijo -tōrium dio como resultado otro sufijo: -dero. Los resultados del análisis cuantitativo de los roles semánticos asociados al sufijo -dor en español y catalán entre los siglos XIII y XVI demostrarían que el catalán sí tuvo influencia sobre el español en este aspecto.

    This article deals with the multifunctionality of the Spanish and Catalan suffix -dor. The aim of the research is to verify if the instrumental and locative meanings of this suffix appeared in Spanish under the influence of Catalan, since the suffix -dor in Catalan originates in the agentive Latin suffix -tor and as well in the instrumental and locative suffix -tōrium, whereas in Spanish the suffix -tōrium gave as a result the suffix -dero. The results of the quantitative analysis of the semantic roles associated to the suffix -dor in Spanish and Catalan in the period between 1200s and 1500s confirm that Catalan influenced Spanish in this sense.
