      : Se pretende analizar y reflexionar en el presente trabajo acerca de la institución de la prórroga de la patria potestad y la patria potestad rehabilitada en la nueva regulación en el Proyecto de Ley por la que se reforma la legislación civil y procesal para el apoyo a las personas con discapacidad en el ejercicio de su capacidad jurídica. En dicho proyecto se elimina del ámbito de la discapacidad la patria potestad prorrogada y la patria potestad rehabilitada, siguiendo un criterio que demanda el tratamiento de las personas con discapacidad con la atención que requiere su situación concreta, eliminando un régimen que parece contrario al sistema de promoción de la autonomía de las personas adultas con discapacidad. Se enlaza y aborda este estudio, con las características y necesidades de las personas con una severa discapacidad intelectual, pues se verán afectadas por la reforma y por el efecto de las insuficiencias estructurales que padece el sistema de Justicia de nuestro país.

      It is intended to analyze and reflect in the present work about the institution of the extension of parental authority and parental authority rehabilitated in the new regulation in the Draft Law that reforms the civil and procedural legislation to support people with disabilities in the exercise of their legal capacity. In this project, the extended parental authority and the rehabilitated parental authority are eliminated from the scope of disability, following a criterion that demands the treatment of people with disabilities with the attention that their specific situation requires, eliminating a regime that seems contrary to the system of promoting the autonomy of adults with disabilities. This study is linked and addressed, with the characteristics and needs of people with a severe intellectual disability, as they will be affected by the reform and by the effect of the structural deficiencies suffered by the Justice system of our country. the present work about the institution of the extension of parental authority and parental authority rehabilitated in the new regulation in the Bill of Law that reforms the civil and procedural legislation to support people with disabilities in the exercise of its legal capacity.
