    La ràpida evolució del canvi climàtic ens obliga a adaptar de forma urgent el nostre planejament urbanístic i territorial als nous riscos. L’objectiu d’aquest article és analitzar el model de planejament del Regne Unit, amb un interessant catàleg d’experiències d’adaptació dels espais en risc, per trobar mecanismes que es puguin transposar a l’ordenament català. L’anàlisi parteix de la idiosincràsia del sistema urbanístic britànic, molt més discrecional i flexible, i estudia les propostes creatives i innovadores que Anglaterra, Gal·les, Escòcia i Irlanda de Nord han desenvolupat per afrontar els riscos climàtics, una recerca que posa en evidència la necessitat de reformular el model urbanístic català amb noves operacions que evitin la transformació dels espais més sensibles, que modulin el risc en funció de la seva evolució o fins i tot prevegin la desaparició de les edificacions a les zones de més risc. Aquestes solucions, com conclou l’article, són viables en termes jurídics i econòmics, però requereixen una nova generació de plans que abordin aquest gran repte.

    The rapid rate of climate change has forced us to urgently adapt our urban and territorial planning to new risks. The aim of this article is to analyse the planning model of the United Kingdom against an interesting catalogue of experiences of adapting spaces at risk to find mechanisms that can be transposed into Catalan law. The analysis is based on the idiosyncrasy of the much more discretionary and flexible British urban system and examines the creative and innovative proposals developed to address climate risks in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These include research that highlights the need to reformulate the Catalan urban model with new operations that prevent the transformation of the most sensitive spaces, modulate the risk according to its evolution or even predict the disappearance of buildings in the areas of greater risk. The article concludes that solutions are viable in legal and economic terms but require a new generation of plans to address this great challenge.
