    El artículo investiga el proceso de falsificación de la tradición histórico- cultural judía de las comarcas de Las Hurdes y Las Batuecas, surgido durante el movimiento romántico-costumbrista extremeño a finales del siglo XIX.

    Influenciados por el casticismo rural y la ortodoxia cristiana, los autores extre- meños diseñan una serie de fábulas con una estructura meramente folclórica y acuñando una “historia judía” impostada.

    This article is an investigation into the processes of falsification of the cultural and historical traditions of jewish people in the regions of Las Hurdes and Las Batuecas. The authors were extremely influenced by rural thinking, the orthodox church, as well as the romantic movement in Extremadura at the end of the 19 th century. There fore leading to fables given a false portrayal ot the jewish people and their history in these regions.
