    It analyzes the system of election of the members of the Spanish Parliament and it argues that the change from bipartisanship to multi-partisanship has not been caused by the system of distribution of seats but rather by psychological and sociological factors affecting the electoral behavior. The author questions the proposals to reform the electoral system that are based exclusively on institutional variables or party calculations
