Tres etapas son objeto de nuestro estudio con respecto al cine y el teatro en Almendralejo. El antes, el durante y el después de la guerra civil española de 1936. Una durísima época en la vida de esta población. También y uniéndonos a las celebraciones centenarias, dedicaremos nuestra atención al edificio del antiguo Palacio de Justicia que, el día 1 de diciembre de 2016, cumple ciento veinticinco años. Intentaremos clarificar los aspectos de su adquisición por el Ayuntamiento, construcción y también daremos algo de luz, a la incógnita que lo envuelve. ¿El Palacio de Justicia está construido sobre lo que fuera el Teatro Cajigal? ¿Es mito o realidad?

Three periods are the focus of our study regarding movie and live theatres in Almendralejo. The before, during, and after the Spanish Civil War of 1936. An extremely harsh time in the life of this town. Along the milieu of centenaries celebrated this year, we will also direct our attention to the inveterate building of our Court House, which, on December 1, 2016, celebrated its 125th anniversary. We will attempt to shed light on the circumstances around the acquisition of the land by the City Hall and the construction of the building itself, as well as on the mystery that surrounds the process. Was the Court House built on the land where the Cajigal Theatre stood? ¿Is this theatre a myth or a reality?
