    El problema gira en torno al origen de los ostrogodos como entidad distinguida de los visigodos, antes del siglo v, dada la existencia de una notable homogeneidad con que ambos grupos se perciben en las fuentes romanas de los siglos V y VI. Las fuentes romanas junto a las orales germánicas, nutren, sin embargo, los mitos de origen, que permitieron articular las estirpes regias con sus inicios y su ascenso al poder. En todos estos relatos aparece la figura de Ermanarico, la cual será tratada en este trabajo de forma particular.

    About Ostrogoths we found two problems: One refers to the origin of these group as a different cultural identity of Wisigoths before the 5th Century, indeed we found in most of the sources a not distinguish existences of both groups. The sources nursing the myths of origins, have two different nature, oral as well written. We must remember that those myths allowed to frame the royal families with their beginnings and their raise to the power. In the heart of these stories arise Ermanaric, who will be considering here in a special way.
