    The aim of this text is to analyze the representations of women and the feminine in the literary work Madame Colette, published in 2013, by Caio Flávio Fernandes. The sources selected for the exercise were: the book, publications in the press and in virtual pages of cultural institutions referring to the work. The problem was developed, in general, from a reference made up of works by authors and deconstructionist authors and, specifically, from the operationalization of the concept of representation, here understood as socially shared knowledge to attribute meaning to oneself, to the other and to the world, as Spink, Navarro-Swain and Jovchelovitch define it. Our conclusions are that the work, a historical novel, represents and (re)actualizes stereotyped and negative images about women and the feminine, using specific resources of the fictitious genre and even the historical argument.

    O objetivo deste texto é analisar as representações das mulheres e do feminino na obra literária Madame Colette, publicada em 2013, por Caio Flávio Fernandes. As fontes selecionadas para o exercício foram: o livro, publicações na imprensa e em páginas virtuais de instituições culturais referentes à obra. A problematização foi desenvolvida, de modo geral, a partir de referencial constituído por trabalhos de autoras e autores desconstrucionistas e, de modo específico, a partir da operacionalização do conceito de representação, aqui entendido como conhecimento compartilhado socialmente para atribuir sentido a si, ao outro e ao mundo, tal como o definem Spink, Navarro-Swain e Jovchelovitch. Nossas conclusões são de que a obra, um romance histórico, representa e (re)atualiza imagens estereotipadas e negativas acerca das mulheres e do feminino, usando recursos específicos do gênero fictício e mesmo do argumento histórico.
