    A lo largo de dos siglos, el Tribunal Supremo de los Estados Unidos, órgano supremo de la jurisdicción federal, es el encargado no sólo de interpretar la ley, sino de resolver los conflictos entre Tribunales de Apelación. Lo hace a través de sentencias en casos que llegan a través de writs of certiorari. El presente artículo aborda no sólo una sucinta historia del Tribunal Supremo y su papel en el sistema constitucional, sino las cuestiones procedimentales relativas al certiorari

    Throughout two centuries, the Supreme Court of the United States, as the head of federal judicial branch, is not only the institution who says what the law means, but the one who solves the conflicts between the Circuit Court of Appeals. It does it through opinions in cases that come thorugh writs of certiorari. This article deals not only with a brief history of the Supreme Court, and his role under the Constitution and the laws, but the procedural questions of certiorari.
