    En el presente trabajo se estudia, a modo de introducción, el origen y evolución histórica de la Inspección de educación en nuestro país. Posteriormente, se aborda el régimen jurídico vigente de dicha institución, y de forma más detallada o concreta el reparto competencial entre el Estado y las Comunidades Autónomas en la materia, su estructura, organización y funcionamiento, las funciones, facultades y atribuciones, y la naturaleza de la institución estudiada.

    This work explores, as a kind of introduction, the origin and historical evolution of the Inspectorate of Education in our country. Later it deals with the existing legal regime of that institution in our country and, more specifically, the sharing competence between the State and the autonomous communities, related to the structure, organization, operation, functions, powers and attributions, and the nature of the studied institution.
