    El presente trabajo quiere abordar una de las mayores dificultades en el aprendizaje de una lengua extranjera, las unidades fraseológicas con base metafórica. En la primera parte, se analizarán brevemente las diferentes unidades presentes en la lengua italiana, haciendo hincapié en las combinaciones que gozan de sentido idiomático, como locuciones y refranes.

    Asimismo, se tratará escuetamente la cuestión terminológica de estas combinaciones, puesto que siguen creando confusión en el momento de su clasificación. En la segunda parte, se presentarán los resultados relativos a una prueba sobre algunas expresiones idiomáticas de la lengua italiana, administrada a grupos de estudiantes españoles de italiano como lengua extranjera de nivel B2, provenientes de la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Almería. El objetivo de la prueba fue verificar el conocimiento de las expresiones y cómo los discentes se enfrentaron a su traducción al español

    The aim of this assignment is to tackle one of the most difficult aspects in the learning of a foreign language, the study of metaphorical units. In the first part of the article, different lexical units of the Italian language will be analysed, focusing the attention on those combinations that are characterised by figurative meaning, such as locutions and proverbs.

    In addition to this, the terminological issue of these units will be taken into account, since it still creates confusion upon their classification. In the second part, the results of a test about idiomatic expressions in Italian, supplied to Spanish students of Italian as a foreign language of B2 level, from the “Escuela Oficial de Idiomas of Almería”, will be examined. The main objective of the test was to verify the knowledge of some metaphorical expressions and how the students dealt with their translation into Spanish.
