    La historia de la imprenta puede plantearse desde diferentes perspectivas.

    Una de ellas es el estudio de los establecimientos tipográficos y sus profesionales.

    Con este fin se abordan las biografías de tres impresores nacidos en Santa Cruz de La Palma (Manuel Pestana Henríquez, José Esteban Guerra Zerpa y José Francisco Marín González) y que trabajaron entre finales del siglo xix y las primeras décadas del xx. La descripción del contexto familiar y social, la evaluación de la formación y ejercicio profesional y el análisis de las mentalidades de estos tres obradores serán las coordenadas de este artículo

    The history of the press in Santa Cruz de La Palma could be approached from different points of view. One of them is the study of the typographic establishments and their professionals. Bearing this in mind we will analyze the biographies of three printers born in the capital of the island (Manuel Pestana Henríquez, José Esteban Guerra Zerpa and José Francisco Marín González) who worked between the last decade of the 19th century and the first ones of the 20th.

    The aim of this article will be the description of the family and social context, and the evaluation of their training and professional work, together with the analysis of the mentalities of these three printers
