O artigo apresenta um conjunto de reflexões realizadas no cenário do debate para a redução da idade de imputabilidade penal no Uruguai, tentando uma visão comparativa com o caso brasileiro. Propõe-se uma análise do papel dos meios de comunicação e o novo papel das vítimas do delito na construção de uma problemática que, ao reduzir as complexidades da questão social adolescente a uma mera questão penal, promove o punitivismo como única solução desejável e possível.
The article presents a set of reflections made in the scenario of the debate to reduce the criminal age responsibility in Uruguay, trying a comparative view with the Brazilian case. It is proposed an analysis of the role of the media and the new role of victims of crime in the construction of a problem that, by reducing the complexities of the adolescent social question to a mere criminal matter, promotes punitivism as the only desirable and possible solution.
