    El presente artículo trata sobre la evolución histórica de la inspección escolar y de la función de superintendencia educacional en Chile, con énfasis en su desarrollo durante los siglos XIX y XX. Se añade a ello un breve análisis sobre el actual diseño de la misma, cerrando el estudio con una serie de reflexiones que evidencian el trasfondo y la relevancia de esta actividad administrativa

    This article is about the historical evolution of the school supervision and the role of educational surveillance in Chile. It is put a great emphasis on its development between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Besides, it is added a brief analysis on the current design of this supervision, closing the study with the establishment of a series of reflections that reveal the background and relevance of this administrative activity
