    El ejercicio del llamado “Control de convencionalidad” se erige como un deber ineludible para los Estados que forman parte del sistema interamericano. Su importancia es manifi esta a la hora de brindar una efi caz protección a los Derechos Fundamentales. Mediante la utilización de este mecanismo normativo los Tribunales chilenos y, en general, todos los órganos del Estado, inclusive el Tribunal Constitucional, están encargados de velar porque las decisiones que adopten o las actividades que ejecuten sean respetuosas de las convenciones internacionales de derechos humanos ratifi cadas por el Estado chileno, y este no incurra en Responsabilidad Internacional.

    The exercise called «conventional control» can be established for the states that form the interamerican system. Its importance lies when it brings out a vast protection of the fundamental rights by the usage of the normative mechanisms that have been established by the Chilean Courts, the Constitucional Court and in generall all of the state offi ces, which are in charge of making sure that the descisions that have been adopted or the activities that have been carried out are respectfull of the international conventions and the human rights which have been ratifi ed by the Chilean State and which it does not incurred in international responsibility.
