    The article presented is the result of research on memory and oblivion against the backdrop of the mining town of Lavras do Sul, Brazil . Considered for the job cultural heritage material, having as a methodology to evaluate the heritage complex built in the city and the importance that the buildings have to the society around them . In the introduction the author makes an approach of cultural material heritage and collective memory ; following discussion with heritage tourism and to finally evaluate the city under the aspects previously guided . The cutting method for selection of the buildings was precisely the identity with gold mining , resulting in eleven buildings to be analyzed for its cultural significance to the community .

    O artigo apresentado é resultado de uma pesquisa sobre memória e esquecimento tendo como cenário a cidade mineradora de Lavras do Sul, RS. Considerou-se para o trabalho patrimônio cultural material, tendo como metodologia a avaliação do conjunto patrimonia l edificado na cidade e a importância que os prédios têm para a sociedade que os cercam. Na introdução a autora faz uma abordagem entre patrimônio cultural material e a memória coletiva; seguindo a discussão com turismo e patrimônio para finalmente avaliar a cidade sob os aspectos pautados anteriormente. O método de corte para seleção dos prédios foi justamente a identidade com a mineração do ouro, resultando em onze edificações a serem analisadas quanto a sua relevância cultural para a coletividade.
