    The aim of this paper is to mention some factors and characters that played important roles for the formation of the political thought in the beginning of the Christian period, more preciselyin the period known as Patristic, when the join of the Spiritual and Temporal Powers, that were concentrated in the hands of the Roman emperors, was split by the Catholic dogma.

    Este trabalho tem por objetivo mencionar alguns fatores e personagens que foram de grande importância para a formação do pensamento político no início da Era Cristã, mais precisamente no período denominado Patrística, onde a amálgama dos poderes Espiritual e Temporal, que estavam concentrados nas mãos dos imperadores romanos, acabou por ser desfeita através da divulgação do dogma oficial da Igreja Católica.
