    Neste artigo procuramos abordar como as relações estabelecidas entre conquistadores e conquistados na Coroa de Aragão, durante o reinado de Jaime I, o Conquistador, constituíram representações que no último quartel do século XIII estavam entre a atração e a repulsão. Além de inimigos da Coroa e da Cristandade, os sarracenos também foram representados no Llibre dels Feyts como bons servos e bons vassalos. Em nossa perspectiva, a narrativa exerce o papel de um espelho, não como um mero reflexo das relações entre cristãos e muçulmanos, mas como a construção de uma representação sobre elas, de acordo com as percepções e interesses de um rei cristão.

    In this article we discuss how the relations between conquerors and conquered in the Crown of Aragon, during the reign of James I the Conqueror, constituted representations in the last quarter of the XIII were between attraction an repulsion. Besides enemies of the Crown and Christianity, the saracens were also represented in the Llibre dels Feyts as good servants and good vassals. In our perspective, the narrative plays the role of a mirror, not as a mere reflection of the relations between christians and muslims, but as the construction of a representation on them, according to the perceptions and interests of a christian king.
