    El presente trabajo ofrece una visión global de las posibilidades de utilización de los medios electrónicos en el procedimiento arbitral. A tal fin se hace un repaso de la legislación aplicable en dicha materia, tanto en el Derecho interno como en el internacional emanado de Naciones Unidas. Se hace un estudio que se centra fundamentalmente en la admisibilidad jurídica de que el acuerdo compromisorio o el laudo consten en un documento que no tenga como soporte el papel, sino otro aportado por las nuevas tecnologías, genéricamente denominado electrónico. También se examina la posibilidad jurídica de realizar las comunicaciones y notificaciones en el procedimiento arbitral por medios electrónicos.

    This paper provides an overview about the possibilities of using electronic means in the arbitration procedure. In that sense, we review the law applicable in this subject, both domestic law and international regulation issued by UN. It is a study that focuses primarily on the legal admissibility of having the agreement to arbitrate or the award in a document that is not supported on a paper, but in another one mean provided by new technologies, generically called electronic means. It also examines the legal possibility to carry communications and notifications in the arbitration proceedings by electronic means.
