This volume collects the Proceedings of the International Conference entitled Warriors at play. Otium, learning and isonomy held virtually at the Elche Archaeological and History Museum “Alejandro Ramos Folqués” (MAHE) on 28th May 2021. The eleven contributions analyse the relationship between game and war. Two topics usually considered to belong to two opposite spheres, but actually they are two very osmotic domains, two sides of the same coin. The papers edited in this book show, with different approaches to this complex topic, the cultural role played by ludus and bellum in shaping the social structure of different culture in the Classical antiquity.
