• This volume contains the lectures and posters given at the IX Fall Workshop on Geometry and Physics (special session), held in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Catalonia, Spain) on 6-8 July 2000. The Workshop was organised by the research group on Diffrential Geometry, Dynamical Systems ans Applications of the Department of Applied Mathematics IV of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC).
