Resumen

  • One of the most prototypical aspects of human tife is probably Ianguage, which highlights the fact that humans are social beings. As a result, the study oflanguage becomes necessary to deepen our own lmowledge as a species, This collection of essays is evidence of the interest ofhuman beings in Ianguage in its broadest sense. The volume opens with the contribution of Professor Jeremy Smith. In addition, the book includes thirty-two essays grouped in six sections. The nrst two sections: Lexicology and Semantics and Morphology and Syntax have attracted the attention of many ofthe researchers, as they comprise sixteen chapters. The other sixteen chapters have been grouped into the following sections: Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis, Language Leaming and Acquisition, Contrastive Linguistics and Translation and, finally, Language Variation.
