Información General

Resumen

  • It is impossible to conceive of the current stage of humanistic research without contextualizing two of its contemporary pillars: the dominance of English as a lingua franca and the increasingly marked tendency towards hybridization.

The texts collected in this volume are born from a framework of debate that had as its common core the study of the English language. As the following pages attest, the scope of the approaches that fall under this umbrella was soon palpable: reflections on translation, literature, linguistics, communication, cultural studies, cinema and stage practice, among others, were promoted. And it was precisely this analytical plurality that revealed, once some of these reflections had been collected in writing, the difficulty of putting them together.
