“This volume shows how the “war on gender” waged by various illiberal and far-right forces is trying to erode the norms and policies for eradicating violence against women, that have been painstakingly build up for years both in the global and regional realms. As the initial quote from Simone de Beauvoir reminds us, “a political, economic, and religious crisis is enough for women’s rights to be called into question again.” One of the merits of this book is that it convincingly shows that this attack is part of a broader process of transition, or rather crisis, in the liberal international order driven by these forces, coordinated in a “reactionary international,” inorganic but no less real, in their role as “normative anti-entrepreneurs”.” Read the full review here>>> – José Antonio Sanahuja, Professor (Full) of International Relations, Complutense University of Madrid, Spain
