    La Pontificia Comisión Bíblica es una institución fundada a principios del s. XX por León XIII para velar por la Biblia y el trabajo de investigación de los exegetas católicos. Su azarosa vida es una buena expresión del devenir de la teología del s. XX y de la misma Iglesia católica. En el presente artículo se hace un recorrido por la historia de esta institución que desempeña su trabajo de forma callada y oculta pero que se ha convertido en un órgano asesor del Magisterio de primer orden.

    The Pontifical Biblical Commission is an institution founded by Leo XIII at the begining of the XXth century to watch over the Bible and the work of investigation done by Catholic exegetes.

    Its eventful life is a good expression of the performance of the theology of the XXth century and of the Catholic Church itself. In this article the history of this institution is studied. The Pontifical Biblical Commission carries out its work quietly and in a hidden way, but it has become a first class consultant organ of the Magisterium.
