Resumen de Salamanca, territorio en persistente disfuncionalidad económica y demográfica

Los objetivos planteados por el artículo son dar respuesta a un doble interrogante sobre el desarrollo de la provincia de Salamanca. Por un lado, profundizar en la naturaleza y fortaleza de la base productiva de mediados del siglo xx al presente y, por otro, conocer mejor las formas de ocupación del territorio e identificar y medir qué territorios y municipios crecen y cuáles retroceden. Los resultados permiten obtener una visión clara de las causas por las que Salamanca se encuadra entre las provincias rezagadas del país, así como identificar en el territorio la presencia de cuatro espacios diferenciados por la vitalidad económica y demográfica de sus municipios.

The objectives of the article are to answer a double question about the development of the province of Salamanca. On the one hand, to delve into the nature and strength of the productive base from the mid-20th century to the present and, on the other, to better understand the forms of occupation of the territory and to identify and measure which territories and municipalities are growing and which are regressing. The results allow us to obtain a clear vision of the reasons why Salamanca is among the lagging provinces of the country, as well as to identify in the territory the presence of four spaces differentiated by the economic and demographic vitality of their municipalities.
