Las empresas sustentables en México y su vinculación con el cuidado y conservación del agua. Una mirada desde los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible

    RESUMEN Objetivo: Analizar las metas y acciones que las empresas sustentables que cotizan en la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores implementan para el cuidado y conservación del agua en búsqueda del cumplimiento de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible (ODS). Métodos y técnicas: Se estudian 29 empresas, denominadas sustentables, que cotizan en la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV) con el índice S&P/BMV Total México ESG Index. La investigación se desarrolla en 4 etapas. Se aplica como técnica de recolección de datos el análisis documental y se utilizan fichas de registros de datos. Las fuentes de información son los informes de sustentabilidad de cada empresa de los años 2017, 2018 y 2019. Los datos obtenidos se procesan y presentan a través de Lucidchart y Microsoft Excel. Resultados: Se identifica que en las empresas sustentables en México se fomenta el ahorro responsable del agua a través de iniciativas que contribuyen al cuidado y conservación del vital líquido. Estas prácticas demuestran que en el sector empresarial mexicano hay un avance en el cumplimiento de los objetivos de la Agenda 2030. Conclusiones: El compromiso con el medio ambiente es responsabilidad del Estado, sociedad y sector empresarial. Este último, sin importar el tamaño de la organización, debe contribuir a que las futuras generaciones cuenten con recursos naturales para satisfacer sus necesidades. Las empresas sustentables en México, sus metas y acciones en temas del cuidado y conservación del agua, están alineadas a los objetivos del desarrollo sostenible, lo que constituye un paso importante hacia una sociedad comprometida con los recursos naturales.

    ABSTRACT Objective: Analyze goals and actions that sustainable companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange implement for the care and conservation of water in search of compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Methods and techniques: 29 so-called sustainable companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) with the S&P/BMV Total Mexico ESG Index are studied. The investigation is developed in 5 stages. Documentary analysis is applied as a data collection technique and data record cards are used. The sources of information are the sustainability reports of each company for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The data obtained is processed and presented through Lucidchart and Microsoft Excel. Results: It is identified that sustainable companies in Mexico promote responsible water saving through initiatives that contribute to the care and conservation of the vital liquid, these practices show that in the Mexican business sector there is progress in meeting the objectives of the 2030 Agenda. Conclusions: The commitment to the environment is the responsibility of the State, society and the business sector, the latter, regardless of the size of the organization, must contribute to guaranteeing that future generations have natural resources to satisfy their needs. Sustainable companies in Mexico, their goals and actions in matters of water care and conservation are aligned with the objectives of sustainable development, being an important step towards a society committed to natural resources.
